Client: Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services
Since 2004, MSF&W has partnered with the Illinois Department of Human Services' Division of Rehabilitation Services to to help ensure that DHS/DRS information and systems are accessible to customers, stakeholders, and staff with disabilities.
Working with DRS, the project team tested dozens of web sites and software applications, developed training programs for content authors and developers, and assisted in the analysis of DHS accessibility-related policies and procedures.
These efforts culminated in the development and deployment of "OneNet," a web-based editor and content management system that facilitates the creation of accessible web content. OneNet is currently used by more that 350 DHS staff to manage almost 20,000 pages on the DHS intranet and web site. The OneNet Editor was lauded as "clearly a breakthrough technology in creating accessible content" by Jon Gunderson, Ph.D., Director of Information Technology Accessibility, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
