Client: Illinois Technology Office
In 2002, MSF&W performed a formal accessibility audit of the existing State of Illinois web site and prototype web site templates. Using our rigorous testing methodology, we analyzed representative pages of the site for compliance with the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and Federal "Section 508" Standards. We also tested for compatibility with leading accessibility techniques, including the use of large font settings, high contrast, and keyboard-only operation, and assistive technology tools, including ZoomText screen magnifier, JAWS screen reader, and Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software.
Our accessibility report presented the our findings in an understandable and actionable manner, and the recommendations were used to enhance the accessibility of the State web templates that were subsequently put into use.
