Illinois workNet Accessibility & Usability Enhancements

Client: Illinois Office of Educational Services

In 2006 and 2007, MSF&W provided research, development, and testing services to help improve the accessibility and usability of the Illinois workNet web portal. For these projects, MSF&W performed several key tasks:

1. Development of accessible web page templates and style sheets implementing an updated look-and-feel for the Illinois workNet portal and promoting best practices of accessible web design, including full compliance with the Illinois Web Accessibility Standards.
2. Research and development of an accessible web-based survey tool based on the open source NSurvey software.
3. Implementation and analysis of a two six-user usability tests to evaluate and provide recommendations regarding the real-world usability of the Illinois workNet site.
